WARNA Art Group is a young collective formed from five artists, Faizal Suhif, Azli Wahid, Ali Azraie, Razlan Adnan, and Halim Hassan. The group emerged as students at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia since 2006. Representing four major disciplines in art (drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture), members in WARNA (or “colours”) develop their unique expressions inspired by nature, the environment and aspects of youth and popular culture. They support each other conceptually and artistically to challenge and exchange ideas reflective of a new generation. They have been involved in many group exhibitions in the country as well as overseas. Currently active in promoting their group within the country, 2011 is the year of 1432 AH (Anno Hegirae) in the Islamic calendar. "HIJRAH" or “migrate” is the theme they will use to showcase their group in Singapore, in their first overseas exhibition as a group. They are sharing how they have been taught to expose their art not only in Malaysia but abroad.
