Mao Soviet was born in 1982 in Battambong Province. He studied general art from 1996 to 2000 and modern art from 2000 to 2004 at the Phare Pounleu Selpak Organization in Battambong. Soviet has shown his work at the French Cultural Centre, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambong, Alliance Café in Siem Reap, Java Gallery in Phnom Penh and Ocsen Gallery in the USA. Through his work, Soviet explores the emotions of regret, memory and beauty.
